GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that Solomon Akiyesi, the ace Nigerian actor and producer, has passed away.
Abubakar Yakubu, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed Akiyesiâs passing to TheCable Lifestyle on Monday.
According to Yakubu, Akiyesi died in his sleep on Sunday. He also disclosed that the actorâs body has since been deposited at a mortuary in Abuja.
He added that the guild is still awaiting further details surrounding the film starâs death from his family.
âYes, it is true. He died yesterday. Slept and did not wake up from sleep. We await further details from the family. His body in the morgue in Abuja where the sad incident happened,â Yakubu told TheCable Lifestyle.
Born and raised in Ososo community, Akoko-Edo LGA, Edo state, Akiyesi entered Nollywood in the late 1990s.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, he built a reputation as a reliable character actor and producer, appearing in over 100 films.
His notable movie credits include âMarry Who You Loveâ, âKiss My Painâ, âJoy of Nakashaâ, âHeart of a Saintâ, âDeadly Affairâ, âGen Z Wifeâ, Olaedo The Fisher Girl, âPretty Liarsâ, The End Is Nearâ and âDesperate Ladiesâ.
