A TikToker identified as Debrakin has accused musician and live band performer, Segun Johnson, of ending their 13-year relationship after urging her to relocate to Lagos.
In a series of posts shared on TikTok, Debrakin detailed the history of their relationship, which she said spanned over a decade and was marked by intermittent challenges.
âI have been with this person for 13 years. Although there were ups and downs in the relationship, and I relocated to the UK at some point, then we rekindled in the UK when he came.
âHe had already become popular at the time, so he asked that we get back together, adding that the story will not be sweet without me being here since I was there when he had nothing, so we continued from where we stopped like nothing happened.
âI often come in and out of Lagos, so this time, I was in Lagos around November, and I went back to the UK in January to continue my job.
âSuddenly, he said I should come back to Lagos, that he would sponsor me for what I need. I told him I wanted to save some more money before I relocate because I do not want to be dependent on anyone, but he insisted I come.â
She said she eventually agreed to return, believing the move was tied to plans for a future together.
âI thought that he was pestering me to return because he was not getting any younger, and I listened to him. I did not even tell some of my friends I was relocating to Lagos, and I even ditched a new job I got.â
According to her, the situation changed shortly after her return. She alleged that after picking her up from the airport and celebrating his birthday, the singer travelled to the United Kingdom and returned with a gift she later discovered was from another woman.
âI asked him about the gift and if it was given by a woman, and he said yes. Fortunately, I checked his phone and discovered a girl bought him that machine when he went to the UK. I was not going to say anything about it, but one day I just chipped it in the middle of a conversation.
âHe then said, âNow is the time and kept calling for us to see and talk. Eventually, I agreed to see him, then he later said he could not make it anymore, and he sent a breakup voice note. He literally broke up our 13-year relationship through a voice note. I really did not know what his plans were.â
In a follow-up post, Debrakin said sharing her experience was part of her healing process.
âI had to share this for my own closure. Because I know myself, and staying silent would have made it easier to go back to something I should not. This is me choosing differently,â she stated.
