Reminder and Appeal for Approval of the Appointment of Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ile

Your Excellency,
With great respect and humility, we the undersigned write on behalf of concerned youths of Ikoyi-Ile, Oriire Local Government Area. Your Excellency Sir, please permit us to first appreciate you for the giant strides you have made in the infrastructural and economic development of our dear state.

We also appreciate immensely your humility, sincerity and responsiveness in running the affairs of the state. We pray that you will continue to progress to higher heights in all your life pursuits.

Your Excellency Sir, we seek your kind indulgence to remind you to grant your gracious approval to the appointment of Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ile as forwarded by the Onikoyi Kingmakers via Orire Local Government council since June 2022.

We believe, Your Excellency, that the selection process was duly completed in accordance with the customs and tradition of Ikoyi-Ile and the Oyo State Chieftaincy law. The selection clearly reflected the wish of the people of Ikoyi-Ile at home and in diaspora.

Your Excellency, the continued delay in the appointment of a new Onikoyi has left the people of Ikoyi Land without leadership for almost four years, and this is affecting all facets of our life as a people.

We therefore appeal to Your Excellency to please grant your gracious approval for the appointment of the candidate selected by the king makers. We believe strongly in your commitment to justice, fairness and grassroots development, and we are optimistic that your swift intervention will restore hope to our people.
