President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the Federal Civil Service.
The announcement was made on Monday in Abuja by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, in a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs Eno Olotu.
Those appointed are Ibrahim Ozi (Federal Capital Territory), Ezemama Chidiebere (Imo State), Garba Usman (North Central), Mohammed Ishiyaku (North-East), and Ukaire Chigbowu (South-East).
Walson-Jack explained that the appointments were made after a rigorous merit-based selection process, in line with President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting professionalism, transparency, and excellence in the Civil Service.
She urged the appointees to exhibit dedication, competence, and integrity in discharging their duties, stressing that their roles are essential to effective governance and improved service delivery across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“The new Permanent Secretaries are expected to apply their experience and expertise in advancing the government’s reform agenda and ensuring the highest standards of performance in the public sector,” she said.
Walson-Jack also commended President Tinubu for his continued support for meritocracy in public administration, saying the appointments reflect his determination to build a results-driven and people-centred bureaucracy.
She reaffirmed that the Federal Civil Service remains committed to efficiency, accountability, and innovation in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
