Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senate on Natasha, Senator Natasha, Senate on Natasha resuming, Natasha’s resumption attempt
Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has warned the Clerk of the National Assembly (CNA), Kamorudeen Ogunlana, against any attempt to stop her from resuming legislative duties on Monday, September 15, 2025.
In a letter dated September 10 and signed by her counsel, Chief Michael Numa (SAN), the lawmaker said she would have no choice but to seek legal redress if the directive of the court is disobeyed.
“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter read.
Numa argued that the CNA’s alleged refusal to enforce an existing court judgment violates the Constitution and the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.
He added that legal steps being considered include contempt charges, disciplinary measures, and holding the Clerk responsible for instigating a breach of peace.
“We strongly advise that you reconsider your untenable stance and comply with the Constitution and extant judicial orders,” the letter further stated.
The National Assembly (NASS) had informed the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, that she could not resume her legislative duties after serving her six-month suspension.
According to the National Assembly bureaucracy, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension remains valid as the case is still pending before the Court of Appeal.
