BREAKING: Fuji Star, KWAM 1, Faces Probe For ‘Pouring Alcohol’ On Aviation Workers At Abuja Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has accused the renowned Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, of spilling alcohol aviation workers during a boarding process at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday.

KWAM 1, a prominent socialite, traditional title holder in Ijebu Ode and praise singer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a press statement signed by FAAN Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, the agency described the event as a breach of aviation protocol that occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the domestic terminal of the airport.

According to FAAN, preliminary investigations revealed that the musician was scheduled to board ValueJet Flight VK 201 to Lagos when he attempted to bring an unidentified liquid substance on board despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and the flight captain.

“Liquids exceeding 100ml are not permitted through security screening unless medically necessary and properly declared,” FAAN stated, citing Nigeria’s National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP)and ICAO Annex 17 as the regulatory framework.

The passenger, according to FAAN, was informed of this regulation but allegedly declined to comply. When asked by an airline security officer to step aside for clarification, the passenger allegedly refused and spilled the flask’s contents on the officer. The substance was later confirmed to be alcohol.

The situation escalated when the Flight Captain intervened and faced resistance from the musician. After confirming that boarding was complete, the captain instructed that the aircraft door be shut. However, the passenger reportedly moved to the front of the aircraft and refused to leave, causing further disruption.

He was eventually escorted off the plane by the AVSEC crime unit for investigation, and was released shortly after.

FAAN emphasised that the matter remained under “thorough investigation,” stressing its zero tolerance for behavior that threatens aviation safety or undermines operational integrity.

“The Authority will not tolerate any actions that compromise operational integrity or undermine aviation safety standards, regardless of the individuals involved,” Mrs. Orah said.

FAAN also reiterated its “unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all passengers, crew, and airport personnel,” and promised that all parties found culpable will be held accountable in accordance with the law.

The agency concluded by reaffirming its dedication to upholding “the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and regulatory compliance across all Nigerian airports.”
