Abimbola Nathaniel Oladayo, a recent graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, who was recently reported missing has been found dead.
According to reports, Nathaniel who lived alone in Osogbo was reported missing on July 10, 2025, and has tragically been confirmed dead today, July 19, 2025.
A horrific video shows his body on the roadside, brutally disfigured, with his eyes reportedly removed.
Taking to X, friends of the deceased have called for justice over the barbaric act. They demanded that the relevant authorities should investigate his sudden death.
X user Kode_valid, in a lengthy post also appealed to relevant authorities to investigate the tragic incident.
The post reads:
RE: MURDER OF ABIMBOLA NATHANIEL ADEDAYO – AN URGENT CALL FOR JUSTICE AND ACTION
With deep pain and a broken heart, I write this letter to call for urgent intervention in the murder of my beloved friend, Abimbola Nathaniel Adedayo, a young Nigerian who was full of life, promise,and potential.
Abimbola and I recently graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with a Diploma in Local Government and Development Studies. We shared big dreams. But his life has been cut short in the most horrifying way.
He was declared missing on July 10, 2025. On July 17, his lifeless body was found dumped by the roadside in Dagbolu area, close to his home in Osun State.
A few weeks before this happened, Abimbola had privately told me that someone was threatening him. Although he later downplayed it as someone “just making mouth,” it was enough for him to begin sharing his live location with me regularly for safety. Unfortunately, on Tuesday, July 17, the location sharing suddenly stopped — and we lost contact with him entirely.
To make matters even worse:
•His body was buried by the health department without an autopsy, without any forensic investigation, and without the knowledge or presence of his family.
The police claim that exhuming the body for investigation would cost money, and his family simply cannot afford it.
•No investigation has been carried out. No suspects questioned. No justice pursued.
This is more than negligence. It is a total denial of his right to life, to dignity, and to justice.
OUR DEMANDS
We are calling on all relevant authorities, organizations, and the Nigerian public to help us fight for justice. We demand:
1. An immediate reopening of the case by the Nigeria Police and Osun State Command.
2. A full and independent investigation into the threats Abimbola received before his death.
3. That the body of Abimbola be exhumed and a proper autopsy conducted, under court supervision.
4. That legal and financial support be provided to his family to fight this injustice.
5. That the Osun State Government and Ministry of Justice step in to ensure this case is not buried in silence.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Abimbola’s death cannot be ignored simply because his family is poor. His murder must not be covered up because they don’t have connections or money.
His killers must not walk free.
If this injustice is allowed to stand, more lives will be taken the same way — in silence, with no investigation, and no justice.
