Osun Central Senatorial District, Olubiyi Fadeyi-Ajagunla, has dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Saturday Sun has gathered.
His resignation came shortly after the Senator representing Osun East, Francis Fadahunsi, tendered his resignation letter.
Senator Ajagunla confirmed that he has left the PDP, assuring that his resignation would soon be made public.
His defection is coming amid growing rumour over the alleged plan by Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that the leadership Caucus of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state declared that they will follow him anywhere regarding his next political moves.
The caucus, which passed a vote of confidence on Adeleke, also backed what they termed local and national consultations by the governor, assuring the governor of their unanimous support.
A statement by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, disclosed that the caucus decision was contained in a communique issued after a meeting held inside the Oke-Fia Government House in Osogbo.
Adeleke, who is seeking a second term in office had been rumoured to have perfected arrangements to defect to the ruling APC after interfacing with President Bola Tinubu and some top echelon of the party.
