VIDEO: Toke Makinwa Announces First Pregnancy, Reflects On Journey To Motherhood

Media personality Toke Makinwa has announced that she is expecting her first child, sharing the news with fans and well-wishers on her Instagram on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old TV host and entrepreneur described the pregnancy as “the biggest project of my life, the highest calling ever,” expressing her gratitude and excitement.

“What a difference a year can make,” she wrote. “Dear God, you did this one, you have completely changed my life. You opened this door that nobody can shut… My Season is here. I’ve worn so many hats over the years but this one trumps it all, and I’m so humbled to have been chosen.”

Toke Makinwa’s announcement comes after a year of candid reflections about her life and personal choices. In March, during an episode of her YouTube show Toke Moments, she spoke about embracing being single and childless at 40, saying, “Regret is so exhausting. Make today the last day that you actually live in regrets. What happened, happened… Now you know better, so do better. Move on. Just move on.”

In April, on her podcast, Makinwa had opened up about her readiness to consider marriage, stating, “In all honesty, at this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to be the second, third, fourth, or fifth wife, I will take it.” She explained her perspective, noting, “I am the boss everywhere and that could be tiring. You feel like you need someone to lean on—someone that could decide what’s for dinner. Must it be me?”

Fans and fellow celebrities quickly congratulated her on social media following the announcement. Makinwa, known for her work as a radio host, TV personality, and author, has been a prominent figure in Nigeria’s entertainment scene for over a decade.

The media personality did not disclose the expected due date or gender of the baby, but her announcement reflects a new chapter in her life, marked by joy and anticipation.
