Nigerian TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, reportedly earned approximately $71,500 during a single live stream session, setting a record for African creators on the platform.
The 20-year-old influencer is said to have received around 11 million virtual coins in viewer gifts during a TikTok live event.
After the platform’s commission, his payout reportedly crossed the $70,000 mark.
The live stream reportedly drew around 121,000 viewers, making it one of the largest audiences for a single African creator in TikTok live history.
In reaction, Peller attributed his performance to spiritual inspiration, noting he had participated in gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey’s “Hallelujah Challenge” the night before.
The disclosure sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many commenting on influencer-earnings transparency and tax implications.
This event highlights the increasing global reach and monetisation potential of African content creators on major social platforms.
