Controversial Nigerian show promoter, Sam Larry, has publicly denied allegations linking him to the death of fast-rising singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In a revealing interview with social media activist VeryDarkMan, Sam Larry addressed a widely circulated video that showed him confronting Mohbad at a beach, footage many interpreted as evidence of harassment.
Breaking his silence nearly two years after Mohbad’s tragic passing in September 2023, Sam Larry clarified that the encounter was over a financial dispute. He claimed Mohbad had failed to perform at a show he was paid for, prompting the confrontation.
“That video was just 9 seconds. I was with my son at the beach. When I saw Mohbad, I walked up to him and demanded my money for a show he didn’t show up for. Zlatan was there and quickly stepped in to resolve it. There was no assault,” he said.
Sam Larry also addressed the silence of rapper Zlatan Ibile, who was present during the incident but never publicly spoke about it. He alleged that Zlatan refrained from speaking due to threats, saying: “Zlatan say if hin talk, say blood go comot for hin mouth.”
Further distancing himself from any foul play, Sam Larry disclosed that he was in Dubai at the time of Mohbad’s death, while his associate, Naira Marley, was in Amsterdam.
