Former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, has claimed that an American missionary, Alex Barbir, has been asked to leave Nigeria.
Ahmad stated this in a tweet on Wednesday evening.
He accused Barbir of trying to cause religious tensions in communities across the North-Central.
Ahmad wrote: “A reliable source has informed me that the hate monger, Mr. Alex Barbir, has been ordered by the authorities to leave this country.
“Since arriving in Nigeria, he has been attempting to ignite religious tensions, particularly in communities he visited across the North Central region.
“Our nation’s peace and unity must never be compromised and anyone found promoting division should be held accountable.”
GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that Barbir lashed out at President Bola Tinubu over the Palm Sunday killing in Plateau State.
Recall that gunmen suspected to be terrorists had stormed the Gari Ya Waye community, Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, killing scores on Sunday evening.
The killing led angry residents to the streets on Monday in Plateau, demanding an end to the violence.
In a video on X, Alex Birbir said, “In Rukuba, they just murdered over 10 people, innocent Christians, on Palm Sunday. Tinubu, where are you? As your people are slaughtered in the night, as you sit in Aso Rock and you do absolutely nothing, you allow your people to be killed again and again and again and again.
“When will it stop? When will you hear the cries of Nigerians, of Christians? You can no longer deny genocide. They’re being slaughtered. And you say there’s no issue. You will regret what you are doing.”
