Member of the US Congress, representing West Virginiaβs Second District, Rep Riley M. Moore has slammed former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso over his stance on the alleged Christian massacre in Nigeria.
Kwankwaso had while reacting to the designation of Nigeria as Country of Particular Concerns by President Donald Trump and the subsequent threat of military action, denied Christian genocide.
According to Kwankwaso, who was the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party in 2023, the insecurity facing Nigeria βdoes not distinguish based on religious, ethnic, or political beliefsβ.
However, sharing the statement on his official X handle, Rep Moore linked Kwankwaso to the alleged death of some Nigerian Christians.
According to the lawmaker, Kwankwaso instituted the sharia law, which he claimed made blasphemy βpunishable by deathβ.
The US lawmaker wrote, βGovernor β do you care to comment on your own complicity in the death of Christians?
βYou instituted Sharia law. You signed the law that makes so-called blasphemy punishable by deathβ.
