Two UNICAL Graduating Students Die In Road Crash On Their Way To Convocation Ceremony

Two University of Calabar (UNICAL) graduating students lost their lives in a road crash on their way to Calabar for their convocation ceremony.

The tragic accident cast a heavy shadow over the university’s 38th convocation ceremonies, turning what was meant to be a period of celebration into a time of deep mourning.

According to multiple sources and social media tributes, the victims are identified as Ajor Gloria and Godwin Benjamin Frank.

They were reportedly travelling in a commercial Toyota Sienna from the Bekwarra axis towards Calabar. The accident happened just on the eve of the main convocation events.

Eyewitnesses and local reports suggest that the vehicle was involved in a severe collision or loss of control, resulting in casualties among the passengers who included graduating students and accompanying family members.

The news sparked heavy hearts across the UNICAL community. Family members, classmates, and friends have taken to platforms like Facebook to express their grief over dreams cut short just as the students were about to reap the fruits of years of academic labour.
