Two members of a CAC church in Ibadan, Oyo State identified as Ezekiel Akinniyi, 63; and Wale Oguntade have been dragged to court over alleged threats to kill two pastors and other church members.
Akinniyi and Oguntade were arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan on charges bordering on conspiracy and threat to life by the police.
The prosecutor, Inspector Kehinde Olarotimi told the court that the defendants committed the offence between 2022 and December 2025, at a CAC church in Sango-Poly road, Ibadan.
Olarotimi alleged that the defendants unlawfully threatened the lives of one pastor Michael Ajayi, Pastor Daramola and other church members.
According to him, the defendants and others now at large, locked the church gate while service was ongoing, with a promise of killing and unleashing terror on members.
He said that the offences contravene the provisions of Sections 86 and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000
They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Feb. 16, for hearing.
