Tinubu’s Trade Agenda Gains Momentum As Minister Host Foreign Diplomats

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic diplomacy drive has received a boost as the Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, hosted high-level envoys from the Netherlands, Russia, Mexico, and China in Abuja.

In a statement on the Presidency’s official X handle, the meeting was described as a strategic step in advancing Nigeria’s global economic integration, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the statement, discussions centred on unlocking new opportunities for cooperation across priority sectors including trade facilitation, investment promotion, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and the digital economy.

The Minister reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to creating a competitive and investor-friendly business environment, driving innovation, and building a globally integrated trade ecosystem.

The diplomatic envoys commended Nigeria’s reform-driven policies and expressed readiness to deepen partnerships that extend beyond capital inflows to include skills transfer, infrastructure development, and technology adoption.
