Tinubu Will Use AI To Tackle Insecurity In 2025 – APC Senator

The lawmaker representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Jimoh Ibrahim, on Wednesday said President Bola Tinubu’s government would deploy technology to solve the nation’s security challenges.

Ibrahim, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, said the government would use Artificial Technology to tackle insecurity in 2025, referencing the allocation of ₦4.91tn to defence and security in Tinubu’s budget proposal.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) member described the coming year as a tough one for criminals, saying the current administration plans to develop apps to track down bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists.

“He will use AI to the security personnel to make life uncomfortable for them,” said on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

President Tinubu on Wednesday presented the ₦49.7tn Budget Proposal before a joint session of the National Assembly with the security and defence, infrastructure, health, and education gulping some high allocations

The President listed some of the highlights of the budget as defence and security – ₦4.91tn, infrastructure – ₦4.06tn, health – ₦2.4tn, education – ₦3.5tn, among others.

During the interview, Ibrahim argued that with security gulping about ₦5 trillion, the nation’s economic fortunes would be turned around.

“If he is able to do that with ₦5 trillion, it would lead to more revenue as we are able to produce more crude oil. This way you make more money.

‘The security index has improved’

Nigeria is battling security challenges on several fronts but the lawmaker has rated the Federal Government high in that regard. He claims the indices show an improvement in the nation’s security situation.

According to the lawmaker, security operatives have worked hard to ensure that no town or city is under the stronghold of the Boko Haram terrorists.

“Give it to President Tinubu, whether you like him or not. The security index has improved. I see a positive security index, meaning that the army and police have done an excellent job.
