Tinubu Appoints First Female DG Of Nigerian Law School

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, making history as the first woman to head the institution since its establishment in 1962.

The appointment, which takes effect from January 10, 2026, is for a four-year term. Odusote, 57, will succeed Isa Hayatu Chiroma, whose tenure as Director-General ends on January 9, 2026, after eight years in office.

Until her appointment, Odusote served as the Deputy Director-General and Head of the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School.

Her elevation marks a significant milestone in the history of legal education in Nigeria and reflects growing gender inclusion in leadership within the justice sector.
