Three Killed, Many Injured As Gunmen Invade Traditional Marriage Ceremony

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed a deadly attack on guests attending a traditional wedding in Kunza Community, Ashige Chiefdom, Lafia Local Government Area of the state, which left at least three persons dead and several others injured.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday night, December 30, 2025, has drawn strong condemnation from the Migili Youth Association (MYA), which described the attack as “barbaric and reprehensible.”

In a statement issued by its President, Comrade Ajeh Oli Christopher, the association said the violence claimed three lives and left many residents injured, noting that the attack has heightened fear and insecurity in the community, especially among women, children and the elderly.

“This senseless act of violence against innocent and law-abiding citizens constitutes a grave threat to peace and peaceful coexistence in the area and is an affront to humanity and the shared values of our society,” the statement read.
