For the shinning streets of Ipesi, there was this notorious figure, Prince Solagbade Amodeni. He was once a local government council chairman, but he became a real master of corruption! He also lobbied to be a commissioner for every government that came after, but each time, they fired him, Mimiko fired him, so did Aketi,
With the skill of a magician, the Prince of Ipesi turned public money into his own personal wealth, pocketing workers’ salaries and students’ bursaries, all funneled into bank accounts for his children.
His first son, Adebayo Solagbade-Amodeni like other children took a page from his father’s book, upgraded it and went into crime. Armed with a gun and some boys, he decided to turn armed robbery to a profession. In one of his outing, they attacked a wrong man, a Professor at Federal University of Technology, Akure ( FUTA) and he got caught and was charged with armed robbery. As a face saver, our Prince hurriedly disowned his son. You could already feel karma in the air.
As Adebayo Solagbade-Amodeni faced the music, people started talking. The very students whose bursaries he had stolen were now doing well. About two of them today are Senior Advocates of Nigeria while some are leaders of men, captains of industries, heads of ministries and agencies, and even one in particular is a philanthropist national honor holder that the nation is proud of and today the Attorney General of Ondo State, ready to serve justice to all the criminals around including our Prince and his children who our Prince has disowned.
With his empire crumbling, our Prince became a disgraced man, scrambling to regain his influence by lying and plotting to upstaged, another Prince from Idanre, Engr Ade Adetimehin to become the APC Chairman in Ondo State and he began to twist stories about how he used to give scholarships to those who are now successful by the very mercy of God and he’s claiming to own them while he has disowned his own children, but the people of Ipesi just laughed. The children he had ignored were now thriving, while his own are dredged of the society.
In the end, the tale of Prince Amodeni is a solid reminder that no amount of corruption can escape the long hand of karma. Justice, like the sun, will always find a way to shine bright. Karma is indeed at work.
