On Wednesday, August 6, students and residents of Ibarapa Axis, led by the NANS Vice Chairman Oyo Axis, Comr. Idris Adeboye Jimoh (SUGAR), in collaboration with OYSCATECH SUG bodies, staged a peaceful protesting to demand reliable electricity supply from IBEDC.
The protest, which began peacefully, caught the attention of the Chief of Staff to the Local Government Chairman, who received our delegation and addressed our concerns.
Our Demands
1. Immediate restoration of reliable electricity supply
2. Accountability for prolonged outages
3. Concrete plans for infrastructure improvement
Ultimatum
We have given IBEDC a 7-day ultimatum to respond to our demands. Failure to meet our expectations will result in a total lockdown of Ibarapa Axis.
Unity and Determination
The peaceful protest demonstrates our unity and determination to seek change. We urge IBEDC to take our demands seriously and work towards resolving this crisis. We are hopeful for a positive response!
Yours sincerely,
Comr. Idris Adeboye Jimoh (SUGAR)
NANS Oyo State Vice Chairman
