In what could merely pass of as a skit, an envelope bearing the stamp of the Chief Justice Chambers of the Supreme Court of Nigeria was found in an awkward place in the Republic of Chad.
Fatima Zhara Umar, Nigeria’s Representative on the Executive Board of Community of Sahel–Saharan States (CEN-SAD), had walked off to a spot to purchase shawarma in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, when she found the unthinkable.
Shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern dish consisting of thinly sliced, spit-roasted meat, typically lamb, chicken, or beef, often wrapped in pita bread or flatbread along with vegetables and sauces like tahini or hummus.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Umar shared the part of the envelope with the name of a former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Mahmud Mohammed, and revealed that the shawarma she ordered arrived in it.
“I innocently ordered shawarma in Ndjamena and it arrived in this envelope from the Chief Justice Chambers of the Supreme Court of Nigeria”, she wrote.
Although, Daily Trust could not independently verify this claim, this is not the first time such oddity would make its way into news.
Last year, a picture of an original West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate being used to wrap and sell suya went viral.
The certificate, which belonged to one Oweisana Braduce captured the attention of many social media users.
It showed that Braduce took the West African School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in June 2011, at Obotebe Secondary School in Burutu, Delta State.
The certificate revealed that Braduce was born on February 26, 1991, and registered for eight subjects.
The result showed that Braduce had distinction (A1) in Economics, B3 in Commerce, and B2 in Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK).
Additionally, Braduce obtained C4 in Government, D7 in Literature in English, and C4 in English Language. In Agricultural Science and Biology, Braduce had B3.
