Senegalese Goalkeeper Cheikh Touré Killed After Abduction In Ghana

Eighteen-year-old Cheikh Touré, a promising Senegalese goalkeeper from the Esprit Foot Yeumbeul Academy, has been found dead in Ghana after being lured into the country under false pretenses.

According to a statement from Senegal’s Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Touré was deceived by a group of fraudsters posing as football scouts.

They reportedly offered him a professional trial with a top Ghanaian club, prompting his trip to Kumasi.

Upon arrival, Touré was kidnapped by the scammers, who then demanded a ransom from his family.

Despite desperate efforts to raise the money, the family was unable to meet their demands.

On October 17, 2025, the young goalkeeper was tragically killed.

His body has been identified and kept at Ebenezer Mortuary in Tafo, while the Senegalese embassy in Ghana coordinates his repatriation.

Ghanaian authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the kidnapping and extortion ring suspected to be behind the crime.

The shocking news has sparked widespread grief across social media with fans, fellow players, and clubs mourning the loss of a bright young talent whose dream was cut short.
