In a major breakthrough against insurgency in the North-East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in collaboration with the Air Component, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, have dismantled several terrorist supply networks and neutralized scores of fighters in a series of ambushes, raids and fighting patrols.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, who disclosed this in Abuja, said the operations were carried out between July 15 and 22, 2025.
“Our troops arrested multiple collaborators responsible for supplying communication equipment, illicit drugs, improvised explosive device (IED) components, and arms-making materials to terrorists,” he said.
According to him, On July 19, troops at a checkpoint along the Kano–Maiduguri route arrested Mallam Aminu Idris, who was transporting Starlink equipment suspected to be for terrorist communications. On the same day, Mr Ali Abba, a suspected drug trafficker en route to Damasak, was apprehended with large quantities of tramadol and diazepam.
From July 18 to 22, coordinated ambushes and raids in Bama, Monguno and Konduga led to the elimination of several terrorists and the disruption of infiltration attempts. Recovered items included small arms, ammunition, IED components, motorcycles, bicycles and communication devices.
Continuing, Kangye informed that on July 15, troops of 114 Battalion intercepted four motorcycles, cement and foodstuffs meant for terrorists in Madagali LGA, Adamawa State. On July 16, seven suspected terrorist logistics suppliers were arrested with a large cache of consumables. On July 17, 82 Division Task Force Battalion neutralized one terrorist in Gwoza LGA, Borno State. On July 18, a night ambush by 27 Task Force Brigade along the Lambawa–Kalari Road in Kaga LGA resulted in the killing of one terrorist and the recovery of weapons and spare parts.
Similarly, on July 20, troops recovered IED-making materials in Madagali and foiled another infiltration attempt in Monguno, seizing rocket-propelled grenade bombs and ammunition.
Additionally, 10 family members of terrorists surrendered to troops in Bama LGA, while a 15-year-old suspected informant and other collaborators were arrested during intelligence-led operations.
On July 22, troops intercepted a truck carrying solar batteries, power inverters, cables, gas regulators, refrigerators and food supplies destined for terrorists in Gamboru.
General Kangye praised the gallantry and resilience of troops, noting that the operations have significantly disrupted the logistics lifeline of Boko Haram and ISWAP.
“These offensives have denied terrorists critical supplies and degraded their operational capacity. The Armed Forces remain committed to restoring lasting peace and security in the region,” he said.
