Scandal: Police List ‘Other Allegations’ As Pastor Okafor Faces Questioning

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed plans to invite the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, for questioning, stressing that the move is not connected to the widely publicised sex scandal allegations surrounding the cleric.

According to a report from Vanguard, the invitation followed mounting public pressure and a flood of allegations circulating on social media, prompting the command to order a preliminary fact-finding exercise.

Although the police declined to disclose the exact nature of the allegations, the Commissioner of Police has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to examine the claims and invite Pastor Okafor to state his side.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the police were not probing any sexual misconduct allegations, including those made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, adding that no formal petition has been submitted by any alleged victim.

She said: “The CP did not order a probe into any sex scandal allegation. There are several allegations being levelled against the man. We are not aware of any formal complaint.

“But there is pressure on the command. There are series of allegations on other related issues. So the CP directed the State CID to investigate whether these claims are true and to invite the man to explain his own side.”

Adebisi added that the cleric would be invited to respond directly to the allegations, while anyone with information capable of substantiating the claims would also be questioned.

The controversy surrounding Pastor Okafor escalated on December 14, 2025, after actress Doris Ogala accused him of maintaining a secret sexual relationship dating back to 2017, allegations the police insist are not the focus of their current action.
