The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with alleged bomb threat messages sent to two private schools in the Ikeja Government Reserved Area (GRA).
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter insurgency reporter, the suspect was tracked and arrested on January 24 in the Okota area of Lagos State.
According to the source, the suspect had allegedly sent WhatsApp messages threatening fire explosion to the Human Resources Manager of AVIāCEENA School and the Chief Security Officer of Grange School, both located in GRA Ikeja.
āThe messages were sent from an unknown number. But following digital tracking, the sender was identified as Kosisochukwu Chukwuekenyem Ogbumuo, 25, and was arrested in Okota,ā the source said.
The police added that the suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
āInvestigation is still ongoing to determine the motive behind the threats and whether there are other persons involved,ā the source said.
The command reassured parents, school authorities and residents of Ikeja GRA of its commitment to ensuring safety and preventing panic or disruption in the education sector.
