On Friday, 28th November 2025, the Director-General of OYSADA and Executive Adviser to the Governor on International Cooperation and Development, Dr. Debo Akande, joined His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on a strategic spot-site visit to the Oyo State Agribusiness Industrial Hub, Ijaiye.
The visit was aimed at assessing the readiness and mobilisation of the project contractor, Craneburg Construction Company, as the state government moves into the full construction phase of the transformative hub.
During the inspection, Dr. Akande reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering impactful development, emphasizing that the Makinde-led government is one that matches words with action.
According to him, “As a government, we are determined to show capacity, tenacity, simplicity, audacity, and integrity to our people. When we say we will do it, we mean it. We are fully committed to giving the very best to Oyo State.”
Governor Makinde, who has consistently championed industrialization through agribusiness, reiterated the significance of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) project to the economic future of the state. He noted that once completed, the SAPZ would serve as a major driver of rural economic growth, boost agricultural productivity, support job creation, and attract long-term investments into Oyo State.
The Governor expressed optimism that the project would unlock new opportunities across the agricultural value chain and empower thousands of farmers and youth.
Highlighting OYSADA’s steadfast role, Dr. Akande further stated that the agency is ensuring that the SAPZ project is not just initiated but fully actualized.
He said, “At OYSADA, we are showing capacity. This SAPZ project has come to stay. As the infrastructure development progresses and is completed, the industrialization of the zone will take off in full force. We anticipate that at least four reputable companies will begin processing activities on site immediately, and afterward, more partners will sign up.”
The Oyo State Agribusiness Industrial Hub in Ijaiye is one of the flagship components under the state’s Agribusiness transformation agenda, designed to position Oyo as a leading destination for Agro-processing, investment, and innovation in Nigeria. The latest visit underscores the government’s readiness to accelerate the project and ensure timely delivery for the benefit of all residents.
