Northern Youth Groups Tackle Sowore Over Inflammatory Claim On President Tinubu

Over 70 associations under the aegis of Northern Youth Groups have tackled the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, over what they described as inflammatory statements on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, 22nd August 2024, the convener of the group, Alhaji Umar Farouk Lawal, AKA Fakky, emphasized that Mr. Sowore’s assertions are frivolous and tend to cause chaos across the country.

“In his display of bitterness, Sowore clearly shows that he is ignorant of the fact that all those items he mentioned, purchased by the federal government, are not owned by Mr. President but properties of the Nigerian government, which shall be used by the successors of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

“If Mr. Sowore is still bitter about the outcome of the 2023 general election, there is still an avenue for him to run in the 2027 election. It is not a bad omen for him to test his popularity for the third time in the next election. What is bad is for him to instigate Nigerians just to score cheap acceptability,” Farouk added.

Regarding the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, the convener of the group said it is development geared towards the prosperity of Nigeria’s economy; as such, only enemies of the nation will fault the project.
