Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Ibrahim Gusau has given more insights as it concerns the contract of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.
Eric Chelle signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year in January 2025.
The Super Eagles impressive showing at the 2025 AFCON has caused many to demand for a long-term contract for the 48-year-old coach, who has also attracted interests across Africa.
Gusau has now said the NFF will sit on the table with the Super Eagles coach six months to the expiry of his contract to chart the way forward.
“There will be no contract extension discussion with Eric Chelle, the Super Eagles coach, for now,” the NFF president informed journalist Osasu Obayiuwana.
“We signed a two-year deal with him in January 2025.
“He’s only halfway through his contract. In the last six months of his current deal, we can start to look at things.”
