Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested 20-year-old music artist Godspower George Osahenrumwen, popularly known as Steady Boy, for allegedly attempting to take delivery of a large consignment of “Loud,” a potent strain of cannabis, smuggled into the country from the United States.
This is contained in a statement issued by NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi on Sunday.

He said the suspect was apprehended on Thursday, 30th October, at Bougain Villa, Primewater Gardens 2, Freedom Way, Lekki, Lagos, after showing up to receive 140 bags of Loud weighing 77.20kg, concealed inside three cartons of bathtubs imported from New York.
The shipment, which also contained clothes and electronic gadgets, arrived aboard a DHL flight at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, on Tuesday, 28th October.
According to the NDLEA, Steady Boy was acting on behalf of a drug syndicate allegedly coordinated by his manager, Zion Osazee Omigie, also known as Zee Money, who is currently at large.
In a related development, NDLEA operatives in Kaduna State intercepted 84,710 capsules of tramadol along the Abuja–Jos highway on Sunday, 26th October, during a patrol operation. The consignment was traced to Musa Abdulkarim, 27, who was later arrested in Bauchi.
Two days later, officers at the Abuja–Kaduna Tollgate arrested Hamza Musa, 47, for transporting 32,946 bottles of Akuskura, a new psychoactive substance, while Saidu Nafiu, 30, was caught with 131.5kg of skunk at Kamfanin Zangon Aya, Igabi LGA.
In Ogun State, NDLEA officers arrested three suspects-Seun Olaniyi (24), Rauf Asogba (28) and Ayinla Adeniyi (50), in Abeokuta on Saturday, 1st November, after tracking their movement from Benin Republic. A total of 1,779kg of skunk was recovered from their vehicle.
Also, in Bauchi State, a suspect identified as Jamilu Mustapha (a.k.a. Last Card), 46, was arrested with 596.4kg of skunk at Nasaru town, Ningi LGA, on Wednesday, 29th October. On the same day in Ilorin, Kwara State, officers recovered 532,600 pills of tramadol and exol-5 from three suspects-Halilu Amiru, Rabiu Maikudi, and Ibrahim Mati, inside a truck marked KTG-791ZZ.
In Edo State, NDLEA operatives acting on intelligence intercepted two Toyota Sienna buses with registration numbers EPE 545 EV and ABC 142 CD, conveying 1,455kg of skunk along the Okhokho-Isi Road, Uhunmwode LGA, on Wednesday, 29th October.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended the officers for their efforts, saying the agency would continue to intensify its fight against drug trafficking across the country.
