Nigeria At 64: Dambazau Calls On Nigerians To Rekindle Patriotism And Unity

As Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence Day, Lt. General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (RTD), Ph.D, CFR (Baraden Kano), former Chief of Army Staff and former Minister of Interior, calls on Nigerians to rekindle the spirit of unity and patriotism.

Today, October 1st, we rejoice by reflecting on our nation’s remarkable long journey. Sixty-four years ago (64), Nigeria gained independence, marking the beginning of self-governance, reliance and freedom. We honor our founding fathers for their visionary, purposeful leadership and bravery who fought tirelessly for our nation’s liberation from colonial masters.

As Nigerians, we must rekindle the spirit of love, unity & patriotism to build a nation we can be proud of.

Nigeria’s story is an interesting one having come a long way. From its rich natural & human resources, cultural heritage, ethnicity & diversity to its vibrant democracy.

Celebrating Nigeria at 64 is not just a sign of patriotism but also a strong commitment to support and protect our dear nation in the eyes of world.
As a patriotic citizen, he calls on all Nigerians, while celebrating the 64th independence, to pray for our dear nation and its leaders, may the Almighty Allah guide them and bless them with the strength and wisdom to run good governance such that the interests of all Nigerians are protected.

To our teeming youths, General Dambazau, as a father & elder statesman calls on Nigerian youths to think out of the box and be more creative, proactive & productive to contribute in building our nation’s economy. Nigeria is our country, let’s join hands to take it to a higher level, just as done by some of our counterparts. He further urges the youths not to allow devilish forces against Nigeria’s progress & development to instigate or incite them to react negatively by going into violence. He reminds them to note that the future of the country is in their hands, so they should be more committed.

Security is everyone’s responsibility, not just the government alone, let’s come together to secure our nation, our people, and our upcoming future generation. As a security expert and in the know of security strategy for prevention of crimes & criminality, he emphasizes the importance of being security conscious, vigilant, and reporting of any noticed suspicious acts or movements of bad elements around, to the relevant authorities.
