The National Association of University Students (NAUS), National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) and National Association of Nigeria Colleges of Education Students (NANCES) has passed vote of no confidence on MD/CEO of Nigerian Students Loan, NELFUND.
In a letter sighted by our correspondent, the students’ bodies accused the leadership of not being transparent.
The letter reads:

Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND),
Abuja.
Sir,
Letter of Dissatisfaction with the activities of NELFUND, Lack of Transparency and Notification of National Protest
We bring to you greetings from the intellectual tower of National Association of University Students (NAUS), National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) and National Association of Nigeria Colleges of Education Students (NANCES).
The trio body represents the full interest of University Students, Polytechnic Students and the Colleges of Education Students and are saddle with full responsibility of seeing to their welfare.
Sir, NELFUND was created to cater for the well-being of students populace, to ensure access to education without any financial hurdle and as leadership of the Students bodies we are critical stakeholders of NELFUND but to our great dismay, we are totally deaf to the activities of NELFUND, we don’t know who decided the representative of the students in NELFUND, the modus operandi used in the selection of the beneficiaries of the fund, some students got the loan and never receive the upkeep and many other lacuna from the side of NELFUND.
It is in lieu of these, we are passing a Vote of no confidence on the leadership of NELFUND, demand immediate resignation of the MD of NELFUND as the trio leadership will be addressing a National Press Conference to inform the nation of the Lacuna and corruption going on in NELFUND and shut down NELFUND office on Tuesday 2nd September, 2024 until a competent leadership is assign to lead NELFUND for accountability, equal opportunity and transparency.
