The National Association of Nigerian Students, Oyo state axis has called on securities to urgently probe a viral petition by Comrade Ojo Olabisi Yusuff (Astute Valuer), a self acclaimed Chief Press Secretary of the association.
In a petition sighted by GISTSMATE MEDIA, Comrade Ojo called on the management of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS) to restore a certain SUG Presidential Candidate disqualified for associating with unregistered movement in the campus.
He then threatened to mobilize massively, disrupt the academic activities if the candidate is not restored.
“Failure to act on this matter will leave us with no choice but to mobilize the entire student community in the state and Saki Indigene either learned or unlearned for mass action and disrupt of academic calendar in defense of our rights,” the petition reads in part.

The attention of the leadership of NANS JCC Oyo State Axis has been drawn to a false and misleading message currently being circulated by one Mr. Ojo Olabisi Yusuff (a.k.a. Astute Valuer), who is parading himself as the Chief Press Secretary of NANS JCC Oyo State.
For the avoidance of doubt, we state categorically that Mr. Ojo Olabisi Yusuff has not been active and discharged his duties for the pass 5 months and this has warranted his suspension as Chief Press Secretary of NANS JCC Oyo State Axis, although he has been caution on this behaviour and uncivilised characters but failed to yield to corrections.
More worrisome is his recent threat following Jamiu Ismail Olatunbosun disqualification from contesting, wherein he openly declared that he would burn down The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic Saki during the forthcoming election. This reckless statement is not only criminal but also poses a direct threat to the peace, order, and safety of students, staff, and stakeholders within the institution.
We wish to inform the general public that all utterances, threats, and actions of Mr. Ojo Olabisi Yusuff are his personal views and conduct alone and in no way represent NANS JCC Oyo State Axis. Whatever he says or does should not be linked to our union, and he should be held personally accountable for them.
We hereby call on all relevant security agencies to immediately invite and caution Mr. Ojo Olabisi Yusuff, as his utterances constitute a serious security risk and a potential breach of public peace. For emphasis, whatever untoward incident occurs during the election process at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, he should be held solely responsible.
NANS JCC Oyo State remains committed to peace, fairness, democratic values and will not allow any individual to undermine the collective interest of Nigerian students in Oyo State.

Dear Sir,
Solidarity greetings. My office is perturbed about a petition letter inappropriately addressed to your distinguished office, and as a matter of urgency, my office found it as a duty to set the record straight.
For record purposes, in a petition letter written to your office by one Comr. Ojo Olabisi Yussuf, the Chief Press secretary of Oyo NANS JCC, where he has called for “grossing and total breakdown of school rules for some few individuals selfish interests, the letter doesn’t only showcased the writer’s interest, but also clearly fingered how he’s planning to cause mayhem in the campus and the campus community, Saki as a whole.
The letter in the first place doesn’t deserve attention, as it doesn’t contain the address of the school DSA, nor from an incumbent student, neither from a proud graduate of our dear institution.
In a sane environment, constitution, culture and common sense are vital elements for governance, hence, when some individuals called for total overrule of the three, and started calling for violence, the authority should not only frown but immediately inform the right quarters, especially the security operatives.
In the letter seen by my office, the so Comrade threatened “to mobilize the entire student community in the state and Saki indigene either learned or unlearned to disrupt the academic calendar of the school”, this message is not a mere talk, but should be taken as a threat that could lead to loss of life and properties in the school.
If truly these selfish individuals love the school so much, if their aim is to serve and to represent, then, why did they want to cause unrest in the school and its community if their selfish interest is not met?
The section H, subsection 6, article J of the constitution of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic Saki stated that “No political group(s) should exist under the provision of this handbook”. On this note, if some candidates are screened out under the union law, which varies from institution to institution, why should such a person be reinstated?
It will not only weaken our constitution, but create loopholes and render the union powerless.
The Oyo state Government, the state Police command, the Department of State Security Services (DSS), the Okere of Saki, the School management, the good people of Saki, NANS National, Zonal Coordinators, and the JCC Chairman, all students should hold Comrade Ojo Olabisi Yussuf responsible if a single violence break out from this letter, as it doesn’t signify or call for peace.
My Conclusion:
My office will not fold arms while we watch selfish individuals to cast the school in dark spot, risk life of people, disrupt academic calendar and even waste precious life of students, I am using this opportunity to call on DSA to take immediate action by informing the Nigeria Police Force, the DSS and also make sure that the so called Comrade is called for questioning, while the rule of the union is maintained for progress and peace to continue to reign supreme.
