PRESS RELEASE FROM THE PALADIN OF THE PATRIOTIC PINNACLE MOVEMENT
DECLARATION OF INTEREST AND COMMITMENT TO A MORE PROGRESSIVE NANS UNDER THE TEMPLARS OF THE PINNACLE AGENDA FOR THE OFFICE OF GENERAL SECRETARY, NANS NATIONAL 2026
Distinguished senators and student leaders, respected stakeholders, comrades across all levels, the entire Nigerian student community at home and in the diaspora and Amiable members of the press.
Today, I stand before you with a deep sense of responsibility, gratitude, and conviction. I stand not merely as an aspirant, but as someone who firmly believes in the boundless strength of our association and in the transformative power of student voices.
I am not a newcomer to service, but a tested and trusted comrade whose experience has been shaped by years of active commitment to the student community.
My record as a former Studentsā Union Government (SUG) President reflects my capacity to lead with vision, courage, and responsibility.
Beyond campus leadership, I also served as Deputy Coordinator of Southwest Zone D, where I worked to strengthen coordination, promote unity among student leaders, and advance the collective interests of students across the region.
These experiences have given me the practical knowledge, leadership capacity, and deep understanding of student advocacy needed to serve effectively. I am fully prepared to provide purposeful, result driven leadership as General Secretary of NANS National in 2026.
I am humbled by the confidence many of you have reposed in me and by the growing call to step forward in service of our collective future. I have listened to that call carefully, and today, I formally declare my interest in contesting for the office of General Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the 2026 National Convention.
This declaration is not driven by personal ambition alone; it is inspired by a genuine desire to serve, to strengthen our structures, and to contribute meaningfully to building a more effective, responsive, and impactful student movement.
Every generation is presented with defining moments, moments that demand courage, vision, and decisive action. I believe this is our moment. This is the time for us to reimagine what NANS can become: an association that not only speaks for students, but truly works for them; an institution that protects studentsā interests, promotes academic welfare, and creates meaningful opportunities for growth and advancement.
Our student community deserves leadership that is practical, transparent, and accountable. Leadership that listens before speaking, acts without delay, and delivers without excuses. Leadership that understands that service is not a privilege, but a duty.
My aspiration is anchored on a simple but powerful vision: to help build a stronger, more organized, and more result driven NANS.
As your General Secretary, I will work to:
* Strengthen institutional coordination and communication across all levels of NANS.
* Promote transparency, accountability, and proper documentation in our processes.
* Enhance advocacy for improved learning conditions and student welfare.
* Build stronger collaborations among student bodies and relevant stakeholders.
* Create opportunities for leadership development, innovation, and capacity building.
* Ensure that every student, regardless of background, school, or belief, feels represented and heard.
I strongly believe that our diversity is one of our greatest assets. Across campuses, communities, and regions, we are united by a common aspiration: to be heard, respected, and empowered. When we stand together with purpose, there is no challenge we cannot overcome and no goal we cannot achieve.
However, the future of our association cannot be built by one person alone. It requires collective commitment, shared responsibility, and genuine unity. Elections should never divide us; rather, they should inspire healthy competition of ideas, character, and competence.
This journey is bigger than me. It is about all of us. It is about protecting the integrity of our movement, restoring confidence in student leadership, and ensuring that NANS remains a formidable platform for progress and justice.
I therefore call on our senators, student leaders, stakeholders, comrades, and the wider Nigerian student community to join me on this journey. Let us work together to redefine student leadership.
Let us prove that integrity still matters, that service still counts and that purposeful leadership can still deliver meaningful change.
If entrusted with this mandate as General Secretary at the NANS National Convention 2026, I make this solemn commitment:
* I will serve with humility.
* I will lead with clarity.
* I will act with courage.
* I will remain accessible.
And above all, I will uphold the trust reposed in me with unwavering dedication.
Together, let us build a NANS that is more proactive, more inclusive, and more impactful.
The future is not something we wait for; it is something we build.
Thank you.
God bless the student community.
God bless the Student Union Governments
God bless all Joint Campus Councils (JCC).
God bless the zonal leadership (A, B, C, D, E, and F).
God bless the National Association of Nigerian Students.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
God bless you all.
