NAHCON To Start Returning Nigerian Hajj Pilgrims On June 9

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that the return flights for Nigerian pilgrims who performed the 2025 Hajj will begin on June 9.

This date corresponds to the 13th day of Dhul-Hijjah, an important time in the Islamic calendar.

The announcement was made by the Commission’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Abdullahi Saleh, during a statement released in Minna.

He took the opportunity to congratulate Muslims on the celebration of Eid al-Adha, known as the festival of sacrifice.

The first group of returning pilgrims will come from Imo State, Bauchi State, Kebbi, and Sokoto.

They will travel with Air Peace, Max Air, and Flynas airlines respectively.

Pilgrims in this initial batch have been advised to prepare for their journey home and to hope for a smooth return process.

Professor Saleh reminded Muslims to think about the spiritual lessons of Hajj, including the trust in God shown by Hajara, which led to the appearance of Zamzam water, and the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, whose obedience brought blessings to Makkah.

He spoke about how faith, obedience, and discipline contribute to the well-being of communities and nations.
