A missile strike reportedly destroyed the digital security center of Bank Sepah on Haghani Street in Tehran early Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026.
An administrative building housing the digital security center of Bank Sepah, a state-owned institution with historical ties to Iranās military.
The building was destroyed while the bank was reportedly processing salary payments for military personnel.
Iranian state media reported that the strike killed several bank employees who were working overtime.
Online banking and mobile applications for both Bank Sepah and Bank Melli Iran have been widely disrupted, with only card-based services remaining operational.
While Iranian officials attributed the strike to the “terrorist US military and the brutal Zionist entity,” the U.S. Central Command and Israeli military have been conducting intense strikes against Iranian military and infrastructure targets as part of an escalating 12-day regional conflict.
Following the strike, Iranās military vowed to target U.S. and Israeli economic centers and banks in the region.
Iranian authorities have warned residents across the region to stay at least one kilometer away from banks. The strike occurred amid a “37th wave” of Iranian missile attacks (Operation True Promise 4) and reports of Iranian strikes on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
