Troops of the Joint Task Force under Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK, have intercepted two trucks conveying large quantities of suspected terrorist logistics supplies along the Maiduguri Mafa Road in Borno State.
According to military sources, the operation led to the arrest of 16 suspected logistics suppliers believed to be aiding terrorist activities in the region.
The seized items, found in the trucks, are said to include materials suspected to heading to insurgents operating within the North East.
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary investigation, while the recovered items have been secured by the military.
The development is part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to disrupt terrorist supply chains and restore peace in the North East region of Nigeria.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that the troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, have defeated an ISWAP attack on FOB Mandaragirau in Borno, killing 38 terrorists and recovering weapons.
According to a statement on Saturday signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force OPHK, the troops engaged the attackers with āwell-coordinated ambushes and a deliberate offensive-defensive response that forced them into a disorderly withdrawal,ā while the Air Component provided close air support and ISR feedback to enhance targeted kinetic responses.
Subsequent exploitation along the terroristsā withdrawal routes inflicted further heavy losses.
āA total of about 38 terrorists were neutralized with 8 bodies recovered so far within the immediate engagement area and human intelligence from locals confirming over 30 additional terroristsā bodies and weapons strewn along Garin MallumāGarin Gajere axis into the Timbuktu Triangle. This was evidenced by blood trails and abandoned equipment,ā the statement added.
