The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, under the leadership of Comrade Temitope Afolabi also known as Big Afo has publicly expressed its appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his consistent and visible commitment to the growth of the institution and the wider state.
In a statement released on Monday, the SUG acknowledged the governor’s enduring interventions, donations, and support, which have helped MAPOLY achieve significant milestones over the years. The students commended his dedication to education and the empowerment of future leaders.
“On behalf of the entire MAPOLY community, we sincerely appreciate His Excellency’s vision for education and his unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of our students and staff,” the statement read.
While celebrating past achievements, the SUG also appealed to the governor for continued support to meet the challenges of a growing student population and to provide a conducive environment for learning and innovation. Key areas highlighted for assistance included:
Provision of modern ICT facilities to advance digital literacy and online learning;
Construction of additional lecture halls and hostels to accommodate students;
Support for research and academic conferences to foster intellectual growth;
Provision of accessible transportation for students and staff.
The SUG emphasised that such support would not only improve the academic experience at MAPOLY but also contribute to producing a skilled and competent workforce capable of driving national development.
The union concluded by expressing gratitude for the governor’s past interventions and optimism for sustained collaboration, urging continued investment in the educational sector to secure a brighter future for students and the community at large.
