Man Lands In Police Net For Allegedly Circulating Nüde Video Of Young Woman In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the widespread circulation of an explicit and compromising video featuring a young woman on various social media platforms.

The individual in question, identified as Godgift Bai, a 24-year-old resident of Ogbolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area, was taken into custody by law enforcement officials in Yenagoa on Tuesday.

ASP Musa Mohammed, the Public Relations Officer of the Bayelsa State Police Command, confirmed the arrest, attributing it to the tireless efforts of the Cyber Crime Unit. The unit’s investigation was initiated pursuant to directives issued by the Commissioner of Police, CP Alonyenu Francis Idu.

According to ASP Mohammed, the Command’s stance against cybercrime and commitment to protecting the dignity and privacy of citizens led to the successful identification and apprehension of the suspect.

The police spokesperson reaffirmed the command’s dedication to combating cyberstalking and the exploitation of individuals, particularly those who are vulnerable.

He also urged the public to avoid engaging in online exploitation.

He added that the suspect will be appropriately charged and brought before the court.
