Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has presented a brand new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to gospel singer and broadcaster, Yinka Ayefele, following a fire incident that ravaged Fresh FM’s headquarters in Ibadan.
The governor’s gesture came after he visited the station to commiserate with Ayefele and assess the damage caused by the fire, which destroyed property worth millions of naira.
During the presentation ceremony, the governor praised Ayefele’s resilience and contributions to the entertainment industry and media growth in Oyo State and Nigeria.
Represented by Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, Makinde handed Ayefele the keys to the new SUV, describing him as a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.
He said, “On behalf of the State Governor, Makinde, and the State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.
“On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you.”
Ayefele was visibly moved by the gesture, grateful for the governor’s support during this challenging time.
