Controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has stirred outrage online following her explosive reaction to the death of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari, who passed away in London at the age of 82, was eulogized by many, but Olunloyo took a drastically different tone.
In a Facebook post that has gone viral, she declared that Buhari would now meet her father, former Oyo Governor Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, “at the gates of hell.”
According to Kemi, Buhari was 48 years old when he took over from Shehu Shagari’s democratic government in 1983, the same age her father was at the time.
She accused the former president of jailing and executing journalists during his military regime and mocked claims about his age, asserting he was actually 89, not 82.
“Finally, Buhari and my father meet for the first time in hell,” she wrote. “May all the journalists he executed continue to rest in peace.”
Olunloyo’s statements have drawn reactions online, with some calling it “disrespectful” while others say it reflects the bitterness of those affected by Buhari’s past military rule.
