Late Archbishop Of Ifaki-Ekiti, Most Rev’d Sunday Ogundiran Laid To Rest

Most Rev’d Dr. Sunday Oluwayemisi Ogunlere Ogundiran, the former Archbishop of Ifaki Diocese, Ekiti State, has been laid to rest, GISTSMATE MEDIA reports.

The Cleric who died on the 17th December 2025 was buried on Friday 10th April 2026 at Methodist Cathedral, (the Headquarters of Ibarapa Diocese) Oke Agogo, Igboora, Oyo State.

His burial arrangements started on Monday, 6th and Tuesday 7th April with Service of Songs and Commendation Service at The Rev’d Edward Jones Methodist Cathedral, Ifaki, Ekiti State.

While the Service of Songs was held at Methodist Church, Tapa in Ibarapa North L, being his hometown on Wednesday 8th April.

The electrifying Christian Wake-Keep followed at Igboora Town Hall, Igboora in Ibarapa Central LG, Oyo State on Thursday 9th after which the Burial Service came up on Friday 10th.

The Grace Event Centre, Igboora was colourfully filled with eminent personalities with a heavy Security outfits.

As a way of appreciating God Almighty for the success recorded, and humanity for the great turnout, Prof Samuel Ogunwale Ogundiran on behalf of the family joyfully appreciate God and people who graced the occasion.

He said:
“We give God all the glory, honour and adoration for His mercies, divine guidance, unhindered provisions and protection throughout the Burial Programs of my late brother, The Most Rev’d Dr Sunday Oluwayemisi Ogunlere Ogundiran, the Archbishop of Ifaki, Ekitii State as we had in attendance, the Prelate of Methodist Church, Nigeria who delivered the Sermon, the Secretary of Conference – Methodist Church Nigeria, Archbishops, Bishops and other Methodist Ministers as well as other eminent personalities from the Overseas, and from across the Southwest Nigeria and its environs, including the former Governor of Ondo State at the Wake – Keep and Burial Services on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th.

He continues, “The contributions of all and sundry are not without recognition. Who are we as a family of the Ogundiran’s. We return it all back to Him in full. Amen.” Glory to God in the Highest! Hallelujah!
