A Federal high court sitting in Lagos has adjourned the trial of a housewife identified as Tina Williams for allegedly harbouring three girls for the purpose of prostitution till 14th of April 2026
Williams was arraigned by the National Agency for the prohibition of Trafficking in persons NAPTIP.
In a four- count charge filed before the court by a combined team of its senior legal officers, NAPTIP alleged that 32-year-old Tina Williams of No 4 (Eyeyel) Metanmi Street, Eyeyellow, Sango Ado Odo Ota, Ogun State on or about October 2024, within the jurisdiction of the court harboured three girls ages,15, 19, 19 knowing that they would be forced into prostitution.
NAPTIP said her action is an offence contrary to Section 15(b) of the Trafficking in persons (Prohibition) enforcement and Administration Act, 2015 and punishable under same Section of the Act.
NAPTIP further alleged that at the same time and place Tina Williams and two other people, namely Kingsley and Ibukunmi a.ka Blessing who are at large conspired amongst themselves and organized foreign travel for two of the girls from Nigeria to Togo to promotes prostitution.
The defendant who is currently standing trial before the court is on bail.
