A police inspector, Lawal Ibrahim, has tragically passed away following a sexual encounter with his mistress at a hotel in Abuja.
The incident occurred at Palasa Hotels in Gwagwalada, where the inspector had checked in with his mistress, Maryam Abba, who had traveled from Dutse, Jigawa State, to meet him.
The hotel manager, identified as Danlami, reported the matter to the Gwagwalada police station. Maryam explained that she and Ibrahim had met on social media three months prior.
She arrived in Abuja at his invitation, and they checked into the hotel at approximately 8:30 PM on January 14, 2025. After engaging in sexual activity, they both fell asleep.
The following morning, around 6:00 AM, Maryam said Ibrahim woke her up for another round of sex. However, during the encounter, she noticed that his breathing became erratic, and he eventually stopped moving. She attempted to revive him by sprinkling water on his face, but when he did not respond, she raised an alarm, attracting the attention of the hotel management.
Upon investigating the scene, staff discovered watermelons and drugs, suspected to be aphrodisiacs. The inspector was rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. His body has been deposited in the hospital’s mortuary, while Maryam is currently being detained by the police for further questioning.
The investigation into the circumstances of Ibrahim’s death is ongoing, and authorities are examining the substances found at the hotel.
