Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Tuesday declared that politicians would only find God and solace in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alia made the remark while speaking at the distribution of food items for Christmas and New Year celebrations organised by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in Kaduna.
The governor also disclosed that the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly informed him during the budget presentation in Makurdi that six of the remaining Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the assembly were already in the APC “in spirit” and that their full defection to the party would soon be celebrated.
“The APC is where you can find God. You can only find solace in the All Progressives Congress,” Governor Alia declared.
“Just yesterday, during the budget presentation at the Benue State House of Assembly in Makurdi, the Speaker told me that the remaining six PDP assembly members are already in the APC in spirit. We will soon celebrate them physically in the party where one can find God and solace — the APC,” he added.
Alia also praised Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for promoting peace in the state, particularly among the Christian population.
He thanked Governor Sani for recognising members of the Tiv community by appointing them to leadership positions within his administration in Kaduna State.
