As part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to educational development and youth empowerment, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, has facilitated the distribution of free General Certificate of Education (GCE) forms to students across the Ikorodu Local Government.
The Executive Chairman was ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Babawale Alogba, who led the distribution exercise and delivered the Chairman’s official address.
The well-attended event, held at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat, brought together distinguished guests, members of the Legislative Arm, senior management staff, prominent political leaders, community and religious stakeholders, dedicated educators, parents, guardians, and students. Their presence added immense value and colour to the occasion.
Delivering the Executive Chairman’s message, Hon. Alogba reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to inclusive and accessible education, stating:
“This initiative is about giving our students a fair chance. Education is a right, not a privilege. By providing these forms freely, we are removing barriers and opening doors of opportunity.”
This gesture is a key component of the administration’s S.E.E.D Agenda -Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development —with Education at the core of its long-term strategy for community transformation.
Parents and guardians commended the initiative as thoughtful and impactful, while students expressed appreciation, describing the support as a meaningful step toward achieving their academic goals.
In the closing remarks, Hon. Alogba encouraged the beneficiaries to remain focused and committed to their studies, emphasizing that investing in education is investing in the future of Ikorodu.
The distribution exercise concluded successfully, with a teeming number of students benefitting from the initiative.
