I, Ibrahim Oladipupo Ajuwon (GOLDEN), a student of Federal School of Statistics, Ibadan campus, hereby formally declare my intention to contest in the forthcoming National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council (JCC) Oyo State election for the position of Secretary General.
The primary assignment of every student leader is the protection of the interests, rights, and welfare of Nigerian students. This conviction forms the foundation of my aspiration.
Leadership in student unionism must go beyond titles and offices and be driven by service, advocacy, and unity. My leadership ideology is anchored on student-centered leadership, responsiveness to responsibilities, unity among stakeholders, and productive, accountable leadership.
The office of the Secretary General is central to the effective administration of the council, with responsibilities that include proper documentation of decisions, coordination of official correspondence, preservation of institutional records, and ensuring strict adherence to constitutional provisions. These functions are essential for transparency, continuity, and institutional stability.
My aspiration is strengthened by my experience in student unionism, having served as Financial Secretary of the Association of Southern Nigerian Students (ASONIS), Campus Monitoring Committee (CMC), Oyo State (2021/2022), Financial Secretary of NANS JCC Oyo State (2023/2024), and Director of Inter-Security Affairs, NANS Southwest Zone D, among other roles.
These responsibilities have equipped me with the administrative competence, leadership discipline, and stakeholder engagement skills required for effective service.
If entrusted with this mandate, I pledge to serve with integrity, diligence, and unwavering commitment to the unity, welfare, and collective progress of Nigerian students.
I humbly seek the support, trust, and cooperation of all stakeholders as we work together toward a more organized, united, and progressive NANS JCC Oyo State.
