Long before she became the Honourable Member representing Ibadan North Constituency I in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi-Olajide was already widely known for her compassion, humility, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
She is a leader who relates with everyone, young and old, rich and poor, with respect and a humble disposition. Despite her achievements and rising political profile, Hon. Comforter remains simple, approachable, and deeply connected to the grassroots. This humility has endeared her to many and strengthened the trust people have in her leadership.
Her passion for service did not start with political office. As a private citizen and community advocate, she consistently supported widows, assisted students, empowered youths, and stood with the elderly and vulnerable across Ibadan North and beyond. She did all these quietly, without seeking public applause.
Beyond her humility and generosity, Hon. Comforter Olajide, who is fondly referred to as “OLUTUNU DE”, deeply cherishes and values good relationships across board. She believes in building lasting bonds founded on trust, loyalty, and mutual respect. She relates well with party members, colleagues, community leaders, traditional institutions, youths, women groups, and stakeholders beyond political boundaries.
Notably, she is not a leader who uses people and dumps them; rather, she remains consistent, appreciative, and faithful in her relationships.
Before assuming office as a lawmaker, Hon. Comforter only expanded the scope of what she had always done. She became one of the first to facilitate the distribution of free Oyo State Health Insurance Scheme (OYSHIA) cards, ensuring that many constituents (especially the indigent) could access quality healthcare without financial stress.
Beyond health insurance, her welfare initiatives include youth and women empowerment programs, skills acquisition, support for traders and artisans, educational assistance, and regular outreach to widows, the aged, and persons with disabilities.
What truly sets Hon. Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi-Olajide apart is the rare combination of humility, loyalty, and service. Her actions clearly show that leadership is not about status or title, but about compassion, accessibility, and genuine concern for the people.
Indeed, her life and public service remain a clear testament to welfare-driven leadership beyond politics, built on humility, consistency, strong relationships, and love for humanity.
