In marking this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Honourable Member representing Ibadan North State Constituency 1, Hon. Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi-Olajide, joins the global community to celebrate the strength, resilience, and remarkable contributions of persons with disabilities.
Hon. Comforter particularly acknowledges the vibrant disability community in Ibadan North, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large, reiterating her unwavering commitment to continue supporting persons with disabilities through inclusive policies, empowerment initiatives, and sustained advocacy.
She emphasizes that true development can only be achieved when every member of society—regardless of physical or mental challenges—is given equal opportunity to thrive. As the world commemorates this important day, Hon. Comforter reaffirms her dedication to promoting a society where inclusiveness is not just a slogan but a lived reality.
Hon. Comforter also specially appreciates His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his consistent inclusive governance and his unwavering support for the disability community in Oyo State. She acknowledges the exemplary contributions of Barr. Ayodele Adekanbi, the pioneer Director-General of the Oyo State Agency for Persons with Disabilities, for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to disability inclusion. She further commends Hon. Timothy Olufemi Sunday, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, for his tireless efforts and effective engagement with all disability clusters.
Additionally, Hon. Comforter extends her gratitude to the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Oyo State Chapter, for their continuous partnership, advocacy, and dedication to advancing the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities across the state.
