Reaffirming the commissionโ€™s stance, Abubakar quoted verses from the Qurโ€™an and Hadith forbidding alcohol consumption and prostitution.

He said, โ€œAllah SWT says: (interpretation of the meaning) โ€˜O you who have believed, indeed intoxicants, gambling, (sacrificing on) stone alters, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid them that you may be successful.โ€™ (Qurโ€™an 5:90).
